Sirs I am Steve M...... I was a young GI in 1966, 19, when I took a 50 caliber reproduction rifle with me on a trip to show my buddy in upstate NY to him as I had told him about it during basic training and he wanted to see it. The rifle was a half stock curly maple stocked rifle and it was built by L.A. Parker of Belmont, Ohio. My mother bought me that rifle and I was so very proud of it.

RECOVERED & RETURNED, June 2006.
Theodore Roosevelt's Colt U.S. Army Model 1895, s/n 16334 -
Carried by T.R. in the Spanish American War, and used by him to
kill an enemy combatant, stolen a few years ago from the Sagamore Hill
National Historic site. It's a Colt U.S. Army Model 1895 (one of the
military issue New Army & Navy pattern D.A. swing out cylinder revolvers), s/n
16334, inscribed "July 1st, 1898 / San Juan / carried & used by / Col.
Theodore Roosevelt" on the right side of the frame, and "From the sunken
Battleship Maine" on the left side. Grip butt is marked "USN 38 DA No. 5770
NCT 16 334". There was a rumor going around a while back that it had
surfaced in one of those despicable "gun buy-backs", and had been saved from
the cutting torch by a sharp-eyed history buff. Turned out to be a rumor, but
the gun is a national treasure that should be restored to it's rightful place,
and it's something gun collectors should keep in the back of their minds as
they attend gun shows & displays.

* Three guns reported stolen as follows: The Police reports are for the Clayton County, Georgia, Police Department.
* I was in Columbus, GA on Monday, 21 June 04, conducting training with the AMU at Ft. Benning when 5 weapons and associated equipment was stolen from my truck. The AR's have a unique flip sight on the carbon tube and the rifles are set up for a left hander, because I'm left handed. I know I will probably never see them but if you hear of any Competition guns for sale, let me know and I will pay them a visit! Please send this to your local clubs, ranges, gun shops, and shoot'in buddies. The Police told me that stolen guns from the area have been showing up in Atlanta, Huntsville, Montgomery, Jacksonville, and Tallahssee. Maybe I will get lucky
